Neighborhoods and homeowners associations set their own plans, so check your neighborhood’s email list or HOA. The town’s big daytime event that day is HollyFest. HollyFest is the town’s annual festival of local artists, businesses, food and children’s activities. This year, for the town’s 150th anniversary, it adds a mini pumpkin patch where the first 1,000 children pick and decorate a free pumpkin, line dancing on the hour and a scavenger hunt through the HollyQuest app. It ends at 4 p.m., ahead of evening trick-or-treating. The farmers market is closed that day.

Trunk-or-treats run by churches and businesses had not posted 2026 times on their own pages when we checked on Oct. 27. The Block on Main, 300 S. Main St., lists a Trunk or Treat with the time still to be announced. We list them here only from the organizer’s own announcement; send us yours.

The National Weather Service in Raleigh forecast on Oct. 27 calls for a partly sunny Saturday with a high near 75 degrees and a mostly cloudy evening, with a low near 55. Showers are possible Sunday. Check the forecast for Holly Springs again Friday.

Trick-or-treating safely

  • Go with an adult or a group, carry a flashlight and add reflective tape to dark costumes.
  • Stay on sidewalks and cross at corners; drivers should slow down in neighborhoods from dusk.
