Recent lists include local produce from Four Oaks Farm and Barnes Farms, mushrooms from Fox Farm and Forage, pasture-raised meat from Andreas Homestead, South Chestnut Farm and Valley Love Farm, bread from La Farm Bakery, and beer from Bombshell Beer Company of Holly Springs.
Coming up: a Halloween market on Saturday, Oct. 24, with costumes encouraged. Most vendors take cards, but small bills help.
SNAP, WIC and senior checks
The market takes SNAP benefits at its information tent: tell staff how much you want to spend, and they swipe your EBT card and hand you $1 and $5 wooden tokens to use like cash with vendors that show a SNAP sign. The market adds bonus tokens to spend on fresh produce; the town’s page describes a match of up to $20. Tokens do not expire but work only at this market, according to the nutrition assistance page.
Many vendors also accept WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program and Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program checks for fresh fruit and vegetables. The market buys about $100 of produce from its farmers each week for the Holly Springs Food Cupboard, and you can drop off food donations at the information tent.
