Holly Springs public schools are run by the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS). On the traditional calendar, spring break is March 29 to April 2, 2027. Good Friday, March 26, is a school holiday and Monday, April 5, is a teacher workday, so traditional-calendar students are out from Friday, March 26, through Monday, April 5. Year-round schools follow their own track calendars. WCPSS: 919-431-7333.

Camps and care

Track Out CARE, Holly Springs Parks and Recreation, runs at the W.E. Hunt Recreation Center, 301 Stinson Ave., 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, with crafts, sports, nature programs and daily outings. Children bring lunch, a water bottle and two snacks. The town’s Track Out page lists 2026-27 fees:

Register online or in person at the Hunt Center, 919-557-9600. Residents with financial need can apply for reduced fees on select programs, the town says. The town had not posted a separate spring break camp for traditional-calendar students when we checked.

Festival of Legends returns to Sugg Farm April 24-25, 2027, three weeks after the break, with a free pre-opening evening from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, April 23, according to the festival’s website.

What is open around Good Friday

Good Friday, March 26, 2027, is a Town of Holly Springs holiday. The town posts each year’s changes on its holiday schedule; for Good Friday 2026 it listed:

  • Garbage and recycling on schedule; Friday yard waste collected Saturday.
  • Yard Waste Convenience Center closed Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
  • Bass Lake Park office open 8 a.m. to dusk and the Hunt Center 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Good Friday; the Cultural Center closed.
  • Bass Lake office, Cultural Center and Hunt Center closed Easter Sunday.

The Holly Springs Community Library, which shares a lobby with the Cultural Center, closed in April 2026 for renovation; Wake County expects it to reopen by the end of 2026, the town’s renovation page says.
