Eight Holly Springs areas, from downtown to Feltonville and Wilbon, with ZIP codes, zoned high schools and August 2026 Zillow home values for each.

Last checked Oct. 11, 2026. Sources: the Town of Holly Springs’ Vision Holly Springs comprehensive plan, its Downtown Area Plan and Northeast Gateway Master Plan, OpenStreetMap, the U.S. Census Bureau’s TIGERweb and American Community Survey, the Wake County Public School System’s base school lookup, the N.C. Department of Public Instruction’s 2025-26 accountability data and Zillow Research.

Holly Springs covers about 20 square miles of land in southwest Wake County, according to the Census Bureau’s TIGERweb map, and had 45,248 residents in the 2020-2024 American Community Survey five-year estimates. Its limits are ragged: on the TIGERweb map, 35 islands of land outside the town sit inside its main boundary, and at the edges Holly Springs meets Apex, Fuquay-Varina and farmland toward Harris Lake.

Three things to know before you pick a street

  • The ZIP code does not tell you the town. Most of Holly Springs is 27540, but homes inside town limits can have Apex (27539) mailing addresses, and homes with Holly Springs addresses can be in unincorporated Wake County. The town sets part of your property tax; see our property tax guide.
  • School zones do not follow town limits. In our checks, Holly Springs addresses were zoned for four different high schools. Check every address in the district’s base school lookup.
  • The main roads: N.C. 55 and the N.C. 55 Bypass run north to south; N.C. 540, the Triangle Expressway toll road, crosses the north edge with Exit 54 at N.C. 55 and Exit 50 at Holly Springs Road; Main Street, Holly Springs Road, Avent Ferry Road and Sunset Lake Road carry most local traffic. The eight areas at a glance

Zoned high schools are from our address checks for 2026-27; where an area is split, the school most addresses were zoned for comes first. Home values are the Zillow Home Value Index for August 2026, a modeled typical value for the middle third of homes in the ZIP code, not a sale price.

Area ZIP code Zoned high school Typical home value in its ZIP Guide
Downtown 27540 Holly Springs High $577,082 Downtown
North Main Street 27540 Felton Grove High $577,082 North Main Street

How we built this

We included an area only if a source we can cite names it and places it on a map:

  • The town’s plans. The Vision Holly Springs Land Use and Character Plan names the Downtown Village District and the N. Main Street District, and lists Holleman’s Crossroads and the Wilbon Community among its historic places. The Downtown Area Plan draws downtown’s boundary, and the Northeast Gateway Master Plan defines the gateway.
  • OpenStreetMap place points inside the area: Feltonville, Wilbon and Hollemans Crossroads (hamlets) and Main Street Square and Bridgeberry (neighborhoods).
  • Town limits from the Census Bureau’s TIGERweb, and ZIP codes from each address.

For each area we checked eight residential addresses, spread across it, in the Wake County Public School System’s base school lookup for 2026-27, and counted the residential addresses inside and outside town limits. Scores are from the state’s 2025-26 accountability data.

Left out: OpenStreetMap’s Friendship and New Hill, which are in or near Apex, and Holland and Duncan, south of town toward Fuquay-Varina, because they are well outside Holly Springs. The plan’s character area types, such as its Innovation Village and Regional Centers, describe kinds of places, not named neighborhoods. We found no homeowners association registry published by the town, so the guides do not list HOAs. Individual subdivisions appear only where OpenStreetMap names them as places.
